Abstract

Lumajang Regency is one of the areas in East Java that has the potential to develop tourism in its area. In Lumajang Regency there are regional attractions managed directly by the village government. The tourist attraction is Sumber Takir which is located in the hamlet of Krajan Barat Jokarto village of Tempeh district of Lumajang district. The purpose of this study is (1) Determining the internal factors that support and hinder the development of Takir Source tourism. (2) Determine external factors that support and hinder the development of Takir Source tourism. (3) Determine the strategy of developing the Takir Source tourist area. Data analysis techniques use SWOT. This research uses descriptive research methods using qualitative approaches. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques with observations, interviews and documentation. Methods of data analysis with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The results showed that (1) Internal factors that support the development of Takir Source tourism are clear source water, cool and cold air makes visitors feel at home for a long time enjoying the safety, the image of rural areas that have become famous since 2019, and the ease of reaching the location. While the obstacle is the absence of a tourist information center, the nature of the environment is very low, tourism human resources are still low, and the lack of supporting infrastructure. (2) External factors that support the development of Takir Source tourism are accessibility, technological and information development, regulation, and high potential and interest of tourists. While the obstacles are cultural interusion and environmental destruction. (3) Priority strategies based on SWOT are the development of rural tourism, building networks with other tours, working with travel agents, and creating special websites.
